I have upgraded to ubuntu 11.10 oneiric ocelot yesterday from 11.04  hear are my thoughts on it.

The good..

  • The interface has been polished and the Unity interface is usable now
  • I like the new login screen with its smooth animation. But some how when you lock the machine the old interface is visible
  • The lock screen animation is much smoother now
  • The icons that have been used look much nicer and cleaner
  • search inside unity works and their no lag between pressing the windows key and the unity menu opening up
  • The new Empathy and Gwibber looks really nice
  • The new software center is really nice and easy to find applications

Mathematical Argument for Reducing Maldivian MP’s Salary

by on Apr.05, 2011, under Musings, News

I was reading minivan news today and came across this article regarding the parliamentarians ”Privileges” Bill. In the article MP Mahloof argues that the 20,000 MVR additional allowance was needed because  of “number of people petitioning MPs for money and assistance”.  He says that he is   he is giving away about 2000 US dollars a month (roughly 41 %) to constituents. WHY TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN MUST BE MADE INTO A MOVIE

by on Mar.28, 2010, under Art, News

Even though New Moon has made a bazillion dollars and even though the third Twilight book, Eclipse, is already filming, Summit has declined to announce the fourth and final Twilight book as a movie. There’s a good reason for this: Breaking Dawn is completely fucking insane, and it is probably totally unfilmable. But if they do film it… man, we are in for a treat.

Breaking Dawn opens with Bella Swan, the lacteal heroine of the series, finally getting married to Edward Cullen, the mopey vampire hero. They go off to honeymoon on Isle Esme, a Brazilian island the Cullen clan owns (this is already ridiculous beyond belief. Imagine a vampire going snorkeling; it basically happens in this book), and Edward is afraid to fuck his new bride. The reason: he’s super strong and she’s just a human – Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex type of situation here. But Bella wears him down and Edward throws it in her – and knocks her the fuck out, leaving her badly bruised.
